Eligibility

Bridge of Hope Centre County assists single mothers with children facing homelessness in Centre County, PA. We support women to help secure and maintain permanent housing by providing:

  • One-on-One Case Management
  • Budgeting and Financial Education
  • Goal Planning
  • Connections to Services
  • Resource Development
  • Life Skills
  • Parenting Support
  • Neighborhood Volunteer Support
  • Appropriate level of financial assistance for rent and security deposit

We believe that families are stronger, healthier and more successful when they are in their own housing. Homelessness/housing insecurity have long lasting traumatic effects on mothers and children. Mothers often struggle with depression and anxiety for years after experiencing a housing crisis. Children experience mental and physical health challenges and their education performance is negatively impacted. Our goal in working alongside single mothers and their children is to have long-lasting impact and positive change for both generations.

Bridge of Hope is right for you if…

  • Homeless or at-risk of homelessness
  • Open and willing to relate to a group of Neighboring Volunteers
  • Caring for at least one child under age 18
  • Currently free from substance use or dependence
  • Open to working toward financial stability through employment

Please note, we are not an emergency shelter and cannot offer emergency financial or rental assistance. Resources for community shelters and agencies can be found below.
