We’re back! This year marks Team Tinik’s fourth year participating in A Night in the Car, and we are more excited than ever to raise awareness and funds in support of Bridge of Hope’s mission to end family homelessness. We’re incredibly grateful for your support – it has made a meaningful difference in the lives of women and children in Centre County, PA. And we invite you to consider joining us and forming a team of your own – because together we can make an even greater impact. Let’s put the pedal to the metal and end family homelessness. |

Sleepless(?) Sally

Once upon a time, there was a mom and her two young sons who received an eviction notice two weeks before Christmas. Apparently (according to the sewage enforcement officer) the landlord was anxious to make his annual trip to Florida for the winter and didn’t want to waste time and money fixing the sewage problem in his rental property. So, in the middle of an early January blizzard, we moved to a new place (with conditions that were only slightly better). The Christmas tree was the last thing to leave the house – and much too early for this Christmas gal! When I think back on that time, 29 years ago, I can still recall the feelings of desperation, loneliness, and hopelessness. Were it not for a little help from some very close friends and family, I don’t know how we would have made it through. Clearly, God had put it on their hearts to walk with us. And that is why, for the past 10+ years, I have been thrilled to help others going through a similar situation. And you can, too – your donation to Night in a Car (my car, please! 😉 ) will provide housing assistance, case management, and relationships that will give hope to a family facing homelessness. I still believe that my own life and the lives of my children and grandchildren would be different today if Bridge of Hope had been around back then. Thank you for considering changing lives for generations! |

Mike Bonchonsky
Fundraising Goal: $1,500Click here to donate to Mike’s car Today more of us are closer to being homeless than are to having a million dollars. Housing costs have increased far faster than incomes and even when housing seems affordable many obstacles are in place that make obtaining financing, very difficult, for first time buyers or renters for that matter. I can’t consciously sit back and say it’s somebody else’s problem, when I’m wrestling with problems like which car should I bring to sleep in ? I’m fully aware that I am fortunate I am to have that problem and If I can raise awareness and help do for one homeless family what I wish I could do them all, that would be a huge win. So if you can come out and raise awareness, if not you can’t please donate. if you can’t attend / donate please consider adding Bridge Of Hope Centre County to your prayers! |

Bridge of Hope Centre County is an amazing organization that supports single moms experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity! Each participating family is paired with a group of neighboring volunteers provide provide relational and practical assistance. In addition, case management and rental assistance are provided. Bridge of Hope works hard to set people up for long term success! I’ve seen it change lives! I’ll be spending a night in my car to raise funds for this vitally important ministry! Please consider supporting me! |

Wide Awake Watkins
Fundraising Goal: $3,000Click here to donate to Wide Awake Watkins This will be my 4th year participating in Night in A Car!! This year Chuck will be joining me as we try to bring awareness to homelessness in Centre County. Many people in this area see being homeless as sleeping on the streets, but that isn’t the ONLY way it looks. People are sleeping in their cars, couches, floors etc. |

Team Jeanne Girls
Fundraising Goal: $1,000I’m Heather and I’m hoping my 8 year old daughter Hallee will be joining me for this fundraiser! (If not, I might have my dog Sammie because she is also a “Jeanne girl”). I have volunteered with Bridge of Hope in the past and I did the Night In a Car event one other time. I’m hoping to raise awareness of the great things Bridge of Hope does while raising money as well! |
