WHAT IS A NIGHT IN A CAR?

A homelessness simulation that shines a spotlight on the hidden aspect of homelessness that many in our community experience–living in their cars. Participants will “live” out of their cars during the overnight hours. Register as a team or as an individual, and set your own fundraising goal.

WHEN AND WHERE WILL THIS EVENT TAKE PLACE?

This overnight event begins Friday, March 22, at 7 pm until Saturday the 23rd at 8 am. The simulation will be done “drive-in” style at Faith United Methodist Church in Bellefonte – 512 Hughes St. The church will be open for bathroom breaks and coffee. The entire night will be spent in your vehicles.

If you prefer, you also have the option to “zoom-in” and join us online from your own driveway. It’s a great way to experience the event without leaving home! Challenge your family members and friends to join you.

WHY GET INVOLVED?

Your participation helps those in need right here in Centre County. When you reach your fundraising goal, you and all of your supporters help to provide support towards monthly rent for one single-mother-led family. That then allows that family to gain stability and begin to initiate steps toward ending the cycle of family homelessness and poverty. You help provide others the opportunity to a fresh start!

Check out what our past volunteers had to say about participating. Make an impact and challenge yourself, family, and friends today!

“You don’t know what it’s really like until you experience it.”

“We do this so that nobody HAS to do what we are CHOOSING to do.”

“This really drives empathy for those who experience homelessness.”

(quotes from participants at a Night In A Car event from one of our sister Bridge of Hope locations.)
